THE SURVIVOR Now Available for Pre-Order

THE SURVIVOR, already an instant international bestseller, will hit bookstores in the US on August 21st. It is now available for pre-order, so pre-order away, peoples:

AMAZON - B&N - INDIEBOUND - APPLE - BAM!

What’s THE SURVIVOR about? Well, it’s my fastest, most hope-your-seat-belt’s-buckled opening yet. There’s a guy on the eleventh-floor ledge of a bank building, about to jump. And then he hears gunshots—a heist crew taking down the bank, the gunmen shooting innocents inside. Rather than end his life, Nate Overbay climbs back through the window, picks up a gun and…. You know what? I’m talking too much. Why don’t you just read the first chapter instead?

I will tell you this: It’s about the lengths one man will go to to protect those he loves. It’s about a husband and father fighting to get his family back. It’s about how sometimes, in the worst imaginable circumstances, we can find life again. I suppose, like the movie trailers say, it’s about the triumph of the human spirit. But it’s packed with suspense and tension and lots of adrenaline. So check it out.

The folks at Publisher’s Weekly, Booklist, and The Guardian have given it rave reviews, which makes me quite happy indeed. I hope you enjoy it as much as they seemed to.

THE SURVIVOR Book Tour

SAVE THE DATE: The launch party is scheduled for Tuesday, August 21st 7:00-9:00pm at Diesel Bookstore in Brentwood/Santa Monica (225 26th St.). Margaritas and snackage will be served to celebrate the occasion. Oh—and my dear friend and delightful singer Nina Storey will be on hand to sing “Murder Mystery,” a song she wrote about The Crime Writer.

Additional tour dates include San Diego (8/25), San Jose (8/28), Honolulu (8/31-9/2), and Houston (9/8). Visit my events page for details. We're frequently adding events, so check back often.

If I'm not coming to your city this year, you're able to order signed copies through Diesel Bookstore or any of the other independent bookstores I'm visiting. If you contact them prior to my signing date, I'm happy to personalize your copy!
Want me to speak at your bookstore, library, or wedding reception? Feel free to contact my publicist and she'll try to accommodate: Dana Kaye,

BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT

Batman coverFor fellow comic book geeks, my first issue of BATMAN: The Dark Knight launches today. I had the pleasure of working with the inestimably talented David Finch on it as we dove into the backstories of both Bruce Wayne and the Scarecrow. It was a blast to write and I'm excited to see it on the shelves.

Want to preview the first few pages? Check out this feature on USAToday.com.
